Sameerah Jasat

Sameerah is a seasoned emergency management professional with over a decade of hands-on experience in crisis response, logistics coordination, and emergency preparedness training. A proud West Virginia University Mountaineer alumna, Sameerah’s leadership is rooted in a deep commitment to public safety, operational excellence, and service to the community.

Her career includes serving as Assistant Chief of a rescue squad, where she led operational planning, incident response, and personnel training. She has collaborated extensively with local and state agencies across Virginia and Maryland, playing a critical role in developing emergency protocols, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating large-scale public safety events. Her strategic oversight has contributed to the safe execution of mass gatherings and high-risk operations, reinforcing DES's core mission.
